Senior UX designer and filmmaker near Amsterdam. Engineer by training, storyteller by habit.

How I got here

Eight years designing machines that must not fail, then a camera, then people.

After studying mechanical engineering, I spent eight years as a mechanical engineer at large manufacturers, including L&T and Schneider Electric. It taught me to design systems that hold up under real conditions. Photography and film taught me to tell a story with a frame. Since 2021 I bring both to UX, first at The Pack and now as senior designer at Ngrane in Amsterdam, where I lead product design from the first workshop to a working build, and I design the processes behind the work, like the way the studio makes AI films.

Four years of study, 2008 to 2012: mechanics, materials and how things are made.

Product and systems design at L&T and Schneider Electric. CAD, tolerances, and finding the interference before it is built.

Photographer and filmmaker
Learning to see, frame and cut. Still the part of me that storyboards everything.

From products to the people using them: research, interaction and design systems.
2022
Senior designer at Ngrane
UX and product design in Amsterdam for clients and our own products, and AI in how the studio works. Every year I guide at least two interns or new graduates.
